Today was filled with craft with Sylvia, an auction next door and a birthday party. I had planned to post a recipe. Instead I have decided to share an alphabetical list of 'me' words.
Choclette asked who would join her in jotting down "26 words that are meaningful to me". I put up my hand because I love lists.
I originally intended to write some explanatory text beside each word. Then I decided to be unusually brief and just write a list of 26 words. Most of them are explained elsewhere in the blog or may well be in the future. Join in if you will.
A - Aquarius
B - Bicycle
C - Catholic
D - Diary
E - Edinburgh
F - Feminism

ReplyDeleteThanks Katie - isn't quirky a great word
DeleteHow fun! i love lists too:) and that cake is GORGEOUS! thanks for sharing!
ReplyDeleteThanks gluten free happy tummy - yay for lists and impressive cakes!
DeleteP for pulp. I'm intrigued! Good list of words!
ReplyDeleteThanks Caroline - I am a big jarvis cocker fan and love the band
DeleteCool - I like that you chose green for G. (My thoughts were it would be "giraffe".)
ReplyDeleteThanks Cakelaw - I was tossing up between green and giraffe for G
DeleteHi Johanna! What a gorgeous birthday cake!!! I was here for yesterday's post and had to flee in a jiffy. So glad I got a chance to visit today because your list reminds me of the Picnic Game we play on my blog, lol...
ReplyDeleteI'm not much of a list person myself but I must tell you, I love what you chose for N. I remember your Nut Roast well:)
Thank you so much for sharing...
Thanks Louise - how funny that you aren't much of a list person but you love the picnic game because it is about lists isn't it?
DeleteI love this -and I love that you haven't explained everything minutely. It's poetic, this way.
ReplyDeleteThanks Hannah - how nice of you to call my post poetic - I started writing out explanations but I thought it an unnecessary use of my time (and I like a little mystery)
DeleteI love this (although after writing that I see I'm repeating others above - nonetheless, it's staying, because I do!). Some words I would have guessed, but not all. I am interested in Z!
ReplyDeleteThanks Kari - you can always repeat that you love my post :-) Zinc is our cat - we didn't name her but you will see her on the blog occasionally
DeleteReally like the way you've done your list. It's nice and simple and is remarkably self-explanatory - apart from Z??? It made me laugh that you got nut roast in - excellent stuff. Enjoyed reading this and thanks for joining in.
ReplyDeleteAmazing cake BTW
Thanks Choclette - had fun with this list and quite liked the way it looked without too much text - the nut roast was a last minute addition - I was trying to avoid including too much food in the list
DeleteIsn't amazing how much you can get across in 26 words? Very very revealing.
ReplyDeleteThanks Helen - I would have revealed more if I didn't have clusters of words around certain letters that meant I had to make hard choices :-)
DeleteOh I do love your list and your right, having read your blog for years - no explanation necessary.
ReplyDeleteI love this list!! Always smile at "feminism"! And I think I actually know the allusion in all cases but one or two. . . time to do a blog archive search. ;-)
