Housekeeping: Uploading Dropdown Menus

You may have noticed some changes in my blog today.  Some odd formatting.  Some broken links.  Consider it work in progress.  Much like this post.

Thanks to Kari's fantastic post - How to create drop down menus in Blogger - I am working on drop down menus.  However I am still mopping up.  When I have got it sorted I will write more about the experience.  Meanwhile, please be patient.

  1. Ahem, what was wrong with my how-to for drop-down menus. *looking offended*

    1. Fe Fe Miss Jacqueline - if we all wanted the same thing it would be a boring world *stern face* Seriously, I quite like your drop down menus but they didn't sit across the top of the page which is what I have wanted

  2. Ha, ha, that is why I never bother trying to improve the formatting of my blog - I can't deal with the headache.

    1. Thanks Cakelaw - it is a headache but hopefully worth it in the long run - I remember that it took me years to get my header as I wanted it so I am just trying to be patient with the trying technology

  3. Hang in there Johanna. I recoil at the thought of making changes on my blog which is why I so infrequently do it. I'd love to make oodles of changes though....(I need more geeks in my life to help out with I think :-)

    1. Thanks Brydie - it is a lot of work - probably would be quicker if I was more savvy but it is a good learning experience. I have a feeling I will need to change my template but the idea of changing all the customising makes me tired - and I still need to work on the anchor links in my index and on other pages. When I am done I will write a bit about it but I suspect it is not of use the wordpress people because I am in blogger

  4. This seems like an appropriate place to say that I have your email, and will definitely take a look at your code (and ask Mr B, which will be the more useful aspect!), and will also look forward to hearing what you had to change from my code to get yours to work. If you do a post, I will add a link to it on mine because I do get queries from people saying 'everything worked except this one thing' and I never know how to help them. Will get back to you re. margins...

    1. Thanks Kari - the small piece of code from Mr B was very helpful thanks - am feeling much better about focusing on a few other things other than my margins now. Like writing up a bit of my experiences - many thanks again

  5. Good luck! Trying to update anything on the look of my blog always makes me crazy and takes three times as long as expected... and all too often I come back a few days later and have lost something else instead...

    Hope your updates go well!

    love

    Catherine

PS - have you heard about the new Farmers and Craft Market at Pentridge? It starts tomorrow, and will be every Sunday - I'm hoping to go next week...

    1. Thanks Catherine - I remember your herculean efforts with your blog indexes - I chip away at mine but would love to do more with them - a market every sunday sounds interesting - we are busy today but maybe could get there next sunday - will keep in touch about that

  6. Oh that's great that you finally found a non burning recipe-I get so frustrated when things burn as I hate scrubbing the pan! It looks beautifully bright :D

    1. Thanks Lorraine - I think your comment pertains to the mexican rice in the above post (because this is a blink and you miss it post) - burnt pans are a pain - though I usually leave them to E to wash up :-)

I love hearing from you. Please feel welcome to share your feedback and questions. I have started using word verification recently to combat an avalanche of spam. Apologies for the hassle of reading the mysterious captcha code (refresh to find an easy one).
