Street Art in Melbourne: Collingwood

Today we were near Collingwood and had time to go and take some photos of the street art there that I have seen recently while driving through.  I couldn't help notice what a hipster happening place Collingwood is with PBS and VACCHO, cool cafes and trains on rooftops, art galleries that treated the front of the building like a piece of artwork.  No wonder it is home to such interesting artwork.  Most photos were taken around Budd, Easey and Sackville Streets.

  1. Great street art photos. It’s a shame some people feel the need to put ugly tags over the art.

    1. Thanks Cakelaw - yes I always want to see the street art without the tagging. However I don't mind if the art over it is creative - the one with the rabbit riding a rooster and cart is over one of an angel looking over the city that was in another post on collingwood street art.

  2. Man with the rose and the tyres in the background is interesting. And I always enjoy seeing Aboriginal people depicted in Australian graffiti art

    1. Thanks Shaheen - the Aboriginal pictures are on the VACCHO building (Victorian Aboriginal Community Controlled Health Organisation). I really love the top photo of the woman doing industrial work - she looks so strong - collingwood is an old industrial area with lots of warehouse conversions.

Thanks for dropping by. I love hearing from you. Please share your thoughts and questions. Annoyingly the spammers are bombarding me so I have turned on the pesky captcha code (refresh to find an easy one if you don't like the first one)
