Pumpkin scones are something I look forward to every fall as they become available in some of the local coffee shops as well as Starbuck's (theirs are okay, but there are better). Interesting take though as our version here is done more like a pumpkin pie - with spices - cinnamon, cloves, allspice, perhaps even a little ginger. I submitted Hazelnut scones for my SHF entry - glad to see another version here.Erikhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15344347257935608583noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-77173964254981554272007-08-22T20:23:00.000+10:002007-08-22T20:23:00.000+10:00thanks Johanna - glad to be able to share traditio...thanks Johanna - glad to be able to share traditions - pumpkin scones are so ordinary to me that is strange to hear you say it is a new meal, but also exciting to spread the word - so to speak :-)Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-29318239682470448412007-08-22T03:15:00.000+10:002007-08-22T03:15:00.000+10:00thank you so much, johanna, this is just what i wa...thank you so much, johanna, this is just what i wanted... some insight into local/regional/national food culture and recipes i would never find at home. this certainly will feature on this autumns menu, maybe as a halloween treat? thanks again for participating in SHF!thepassionatecookhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10617713421812264990noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-74151632899397334912007-08-16T08:41:00.000+10:002007-08-16T08:41:00.000+10:00Thanks Nathalie - strange that you are waiting for...Thanks Nathalie - strange that you are waiting for pumpkin season as it seems to last all year round here - scones are great with pumpkin!

Thanks Susan - I did think of the US when I was thinking of how food culture has developed in our 'new worlds'. The great thing about change of season is looking forward to seasonal food - I am hanging out for stone fruits in summer!Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-58833421485510640492007-08-16T00:26:00.000+10:002007-08-16T00:26:00.000+10:00Pumpkin scones - perfect for our fall weather ahea...Pumpkin scones - perfect for our fall weather ahead (just another 7 weeks or so)! Thanks for the easy, tasty idea. The U.S. has the same kind of cultural diversity as Australia; it's "easier" to define a regional specialty than local one these days.Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14970742141705361136noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-84815957990685546082007-08-15T18:47:00.000+10:002007-08-15T18:47:00.000+10:00mmm...
