I make chutney every year and some are still in storage from 1.5 years ago!Dim Sum Gardenerhttp://dimsumgardener.blogspot.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-2544026920897060232010-11-30T04:12:38.633+11:002010-11-30T04:12:38.633+11:00Looks great Johanna. But I can its okay to treat yourself to a gourmet flavour one now and again.

I love the shine of the cranberries colour coming through. Good to read your Mum took one home with her :)Shaheenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03602971207085826708noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-66617809377956891342010-11-27T20:14:58.242+11:002010-11-27T20:14:58.242+11:00Thanks Cakelaw - I keep thinking I should make chu...Thanks Cakelaw - I keep thinking I should make chutney for presents but I worry that the jars are sterilised well enough

Thanks Deb - I think the best use of cranberries I have found is as sauce in the middle of a nut roast - wish they were easier to find so I could experiment with them more in chutney

Thanks Hannah - yes I have given up buying chutney from the supermarket but occasionally buy the gourmet kind - still haven't opened the tomato and currant and hope that one will be good

Thanks Joanne - I wish I was as familiar as you when it comes to cranberries in chutney - my favourite chutneys seem to have stone fruit but I would love to experiment with stone fruit and cranberries in chutneyJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-46504996498926916852010-11-27T00:35:06.267+11:002010-11-27T00:35:06.267+11:00Chutney is definitely one of my favorite condiment...Chutney is definitely one of my favorite condiments to have on hand, especially if it involves cranberries! I love this version and could totally use a piece of toast smothered in it right now!Joannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17133232352924060797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-18731841703399609432010-11-26T11:55:45.866+11:002010-11-26T11:55:45.866+11:00It's been so long since I've made chutney!...It's been so long since I've made chutney! I agree with you that the storebought ones are often too "something" (for me, usually they're too sweet. I currently have a storebought chilli jam that's more jam that chilli. Boo!)

Also, love the line about "not enough choc chips" :DHannahhttp://wayfaringchocolate.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-4227689922493567162010-11-26T11:08:57.303+11:002010-11-26T11:08:57.303+11:00I love a good chutney. I've been thinking about making some too, with holiday season coming up, good foodie presents to give.

I've tried making things with cranberries and I struggle with sweet sour thing. I'm thinking cranberries are best in a cosmopolitan cocktail...ie, drowned alcohol!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-46411696745715157312010-11-26T10:39:03.800+11:002010-11-26T10:39:03.800+11:00I am lving this chutney - it would be great in pre...I am lving this chutney - it would be great in pretty jars as Xmas gifts.Cakelawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17205068748520541380noreply@blogger.com
