Next time you're passing through Benalla, there's a park with a beautiful rose garden, and a great playground. My kids call it the Rocket Park, because it has an enormous metal rocket ship for the kids to climb up, which has been there since I was a small child. On a nice day, sitting on one of the many benches in the shade while the kids burn off some energy is very, very pleasant.Kathleenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09666500509125349130noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-46481270814707941782011-08-16T16:29:01.302+10:002011-08-16T16:29:01.302+10:00That is a huge drive! I'm also very impressed with the train cafe. Wonderful! I hadn't really thought about recurring family favorite meals accumulating through the years for long term bloggers, but now that you mention it, it's so true! I often find myself fretting over whether I maybe I shouldn't cook a favorite dish because I've already blogged about it! Silly me - I already have a back-log of recipes to blog about anyway. :-)

Oh my - such a long journey! I'm so impressed with all the wonderful stops you made and all you explored along the way! The caramel slice with the coconut biscuit base looks soooo scrumptious! :-)Astra Librishttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17875529379234934319noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-6161445558065070952011-08-15T12:54:59.458+10:002011-08-15T12:54:59.458+10:00i am not so keen on driving. but I love road trips...i am not so keen on driving. but I love road trips where B. does the driving :)Anhhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/09712039473488252840noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-56614928299913109112011-08-15T01:39:18.973+10:002011-08-15T01:39:18.973+10:00Driving is no fun - not for us anyway, so I sympat...Driving is no fun - not for us anyway, so I sympathise. Sounds as though you got to see quite a bit on the trip though. When we were travelling around Victoria and NSW 14 years ago, it was virtually impossible to find anything vegetarian out of Melbourne or Sydney - I ate a lot of chips! So, it's really good to hear that things have moved on, either that or we were just unlucky.Choclettehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/00173996730095174268noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-88835977959104738012011-08-15T01:39:14.494+10:002011-08-15T01:39:14.494+10:00Oh I love a road trip and thank you for sharing it...Oh I love a road trip and thank you for sharing it all. I've been to the dog on the tuckerbox too!
Food is all important on a trip like that, and quite a challenge for you as a vegetarian.
But those teddies - great value for money! Here in England, we sell gingerbread 'folk' in our bakery for about three times the price of those generously iced teddies, and ours have nothing on them! And yes, food can make all the difference to long, long, long drives. However, you haven't had much luck with cream in your pumpkin soups lately! Perhaps you should ask for it on the side next time! :PHannahhttp://wayfaringchocolate.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-38032276687151078682011-08-14T17:54:19.258+10:002011-08-14T17:54:19.258+10:00The Train Stop Cafe in particular looks like quite...The Train Stop Cafe in particular looks like quite a find!
