I used less spice than you but I did use rather a lot of ginger so maybe overdid that - but I had the last of it in a chicpea flatbread which was lovelyJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-78521639686209695492013-08-06T21:54:24.704+10:002013-08-06T21:54:24.704+10:00Thanks Veganopoulous - the shirt factory was fasci...Thanks Veganopoulous - the shirt factory was fascinating - but they seem to have similar buildings each year so maybe you will have time to queue another year for it. I laughed at all my potato pieces at om because I remembered you didn't get many :-)Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-60564997321291573782013-08-06T20:12:18.235+10:002013-08-06T20:12:18.235+10:00Love your photos from Open House! Sorry to hear that the tikka masala was too spicy, I'm tipping that the spices in the original recipe would have been way too much for you as I have toned it down a fair bit. Your dal looks lovely and sounds like it would have been a milder partner for your curry night. Opening buildings to the public is really important in fostering a sense of place for those living here. Interestingly quite a lot of the buildings seem to be open to the public at other times but to have a special day really encourages people to get out and see their own city.Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-42041382588283413122013-08-04T21:23:11.629+10:002013-08-04T21:23:11.629+10:00Thanks Yummy CThanks Yummy CJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-9478028618683425872013-08-04T21:23:00.064+10:002013-08-04T21:23:00.064+10:00Thanks Nupur - how funny that you think the steel ...Thanks Nupur - how funny that you think the steel plate is homely - I only see them in restaurants but maybe I need a few for my home.Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-61189052156576960912013-08-04T18:33:53.876+10:002013-08-04T18:33:53.876+10:00My brother-in-law and his wife were in Melbourne o...My brother-in-law and his wife were in Melbourne over the open house weekend - just coincidentally as he had a few days there for work and they tagged the weekend on. I was delighted on their behalf with the timing, and loved your recap post. There are so many amazing buildings in Melbourne and this initiative is a wonderful way to open them to the public.Karihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15887621874869110597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-4652215372365828902013-08-04T13:07:04.977+10:002013-08-04T13:07:04.977+10:00Lovely post!Lovely post!yummychunklethttp://yummychunklet.wordpress.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-27256252490710541282013-08-04T01:51:37.180+10:002013-08-04T01:51:37.180+10:00Loved your post, Johanna. The veg thali is making me hungry- it is such a homely way to serve meals in that steel plate with compartments. Nupurhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03890441057480820053noreply@blogger.com
