If you ever get to Ballarat (or even have a bit of time in Melbourne) you should find a day to spend at Sovereign Hill. It is a place I have often taken visitors out of town for day trips. I was pleased the Christmas in July fell in our laps because I had thought I should do stuff and then I didn't organise anything. Fortunately others were more organised.Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-49374501038390157012013-07-30T13:38:26.608+10:002013-07-30T13:38:26.608+10:00I like the idea of this spiced chocolate shortbrea...I like the idea of this spiced chocolate shortbread so am sorry it didn't seem quite right. I also like the sound of your day out even if it was wet and cold! I have never been to Ballarat and was surprised to hear of such a large-scale park set up there, but it seems like the sort of place worth exploring and particularly good with children. Christmas in July was on my radar as a good idea back in June but fell off it before July so I have missed participating this year I think!Karihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15887621874869110597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-46449402750554415702013-07-29T22:24:30.327+10:002013-07-29T22:24:30.327+10:00Thanks Linda - you sound due for a visit - with or...Thanks Linda - you sound due for a visit - with or without kids - I hadn't been for quite a while - there was a time some years back when we always seemed to be having visitors from overseas so my family went regularly but these have slowed down - though my little nephew from Ireland would love it when he is next in town.Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-52063854839388310672013-07-29T22:22:58.419+10:002013-07-29T22:22:58.419+10:00Thanks V - I should have posted this earlier as I ...Thanks V - I should have posted this earlier as I just noticed that they extended it til last weekend even though originally it was to only be in the school holidays - glad it was a success for sovereign hill - the snow machine was bizarre but fun.

And going in the cold did give an appreciation for the place but it was ok - I found the drive home in misty rain at twilight was the worst part of the weatherJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-66694987370121064842013-07-29T22:20:51.574+10:002013-07-29T22:20:51.574+10:00Thanks Lisa - am sure C will love it as much as yo...Thanks Lisa - am sure C will love it as much as you did - Sylvia had a ballJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-33646581357957970202013-07-29T22:20:28.987+10:002013-07-29T22:20:28.987+10:00Thanks Helen - I thought maybe you meant boxing da...Thanks Helen - I thought maybe you meant boxing day but I get your drift.
