It r..."winter has well and truly set in." It really is kind of funny reading this in full summer and yesterday was the longest day of the year here ;)
Despite the heat here, it sounds like a nice meal. I actually like to make stews like this in batches and have them cold for lunches.
The cupcakes look so good!!!
I hope you manage to keep warm.
Thanks for sharing this at Healthy Vegan Fridays - I'm pinning & sharing =)Kimmytheveganhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/16802320305804211341noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-51256723113544615432016-06-20T23:20:14.589+10:002016-06-20T23:20:14.589+10:00Thanks Kari - I love soup at any time of year but ...Thanks Kari - I love soup at any time of year but it is particularly comforting in winter when it gets coldJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-54199267016500858982016-06-20T23:17:10.037+10:002016-06-20T23:17:10.037+10:00Thanks Shaheen - I think I often make split pea so...Thanks Shaheen - I think I often make split pea soups quite thick because I love thick soups and I forget how much they harden up and end up with something like concrete - so I was relieved later that I let it look thin early on and didn't try and thicken it. Sounds like you used your indoor time wisely - I managed to clean up a few papers that need sortingJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-91095119278706773252016-06-20T02:57:15.212+10:002016-06-20T02:57:15.212+10:00As you approach your shortest day we near our long...As you approach your shortest day we near our longest - so soup is less on my mind but this nonetheless looks very good :) And cupcakes are always welcome, whatever the time of year!Karihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15887621874869110597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-31034630249353099352016-06-20T02:19:21.823+10:002016-06-20T02:19:21.823+10:00That is indeed the beauty of split peas, they thic...That is indeed the beauty of split peas, they thicken and continue to thicken days after. I love it. Its supposed to be summer here, but this weekend has been nippy, we have stayed indoors all w/e, no gardening - but plenty of housework including dusting, so I smile at your dust comment, it made me sneeze a few time. I would love a bowl of your soup and the chocolate cupcake, even if they weren't perfect. Hope your feeling better. Shaheenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/03602971207085826708noreply@blogger.com
