I was being a bit lazy with the baking but I find that my oven often lets me down and I don't know if I keep baking for ages to get the effect or just give up. I loved the squishy middle but maybe will try baking them at some stage.Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-14838399883995113942013-11-20T19:54:10.764+11:002013-11-20T19:54:10.764+11:00Interesting. I'll have to get some masa harina or masa lista, depending what I can find. <br />I'm often the same in that I buy a load of beautiful produce but don't actually crack into it straight away. Your comparison with Scottish potato scones helps! They look beautifully fluffy and I'm glad you found a good use for the flour. I do dislike things that take up space but I don't really want to use!Karihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15887621874869110597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-55440615942780724532013-11-19T01:04:04.626+11:002013-11-19T01:04:04.626+11:00YES! We've baked them anywhere between 5-20 minutes but I am now curious if we could skip that step altogether with the smaller arepas and a longer time in the skillet. I think the baking is meant to bake the middle but I love it more when it is slightly soft and squishy with a firm crust. :)janet @ the taste spacehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/07139453817267734357noreply@blogger.com
