I went there to see the pandas: I figured I'd never seen them in their habitat. I love otters too, and seals. I should find my photos of them from the kayak. I love the idea of savory muffins and I really like the photo.Simonahttp://briciole.typepad.com/noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-32713864280526905412011-03-20T13:48:52.248+11:002011-03-20T13:48:52.248+11:00Wow, do those muffins sound fabulous! Interesting about the changes to the zoo and the cages. I hadn't thought of it that way before, but yes, it does appear as if the humans are the ones in cages (though of course we know they're not). The baby elephants are beautiful!Rickihttp://dietdessertndogs.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-26665592035008636272011-03-14T22:17:07.559+11:002011-03-14T22:17:07.559+11:00Thanks Hannah - $34 sounds extravagant - though ou...Thanks Hannah - $34 sounds extravagant - though our zoo and aquarium are separate so together they probably cost more but there is only so much you can see in one visit!

Thanks sugar elephant - good luck with the muffins - I am considering a zoo membership once I have time to look into it - glad to hear it worked for you

Thanks joanne - interesting how artichokes get forgotten - and I think bringing your own food to the zoo is sensible - who wants to queue for lunch anyway when there is so much to see

Thanks Vanessa - I'd forgotten about the baby elephants so they were a great surprise - look forward to more artichoke recipes in the round up

Thanks Lorraine - I can't remember seeing the otters before but they were so funny with all their anticsJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-48539263605593324972011-03-14T16:02:39.695+11:002011-03-14T16:02:39.695+11:00I love the zoo and we used to have a yearly subscr...I love the zoo and we used to have a yearly subscription to it! I also always bring my own food.

These savory muffins sound so delicious! I haven't cooked much with artichokes either...such a shame since I adore them!Joannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17133232352924060797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-35991551278636918072011-03-13T23:06:48.570+11:002011-03-13T23:06:48.570+11:00We did'nt like the price of the zoo when we we...We did'nt like the price of the zoo when we went so we joined friends of the zoo. It was just under $200 for the year and gives you unlimited free entry to melbourne, weribee and healsville zoos. We could also use the pass in Perth and Sydney and also Adelaide. Considering it cost us $60 to get in as a family we only needed to visit three times to get our money's worth but ended visiting dozens of times it was well worth it.

Also those muffins looks so nice we have only just discovered how nice artichoke are so I think I will give these a go.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-82569248286502475602011-03-13T19:30:58.212+11:002011-03-13T19:30:58.212+11:00E should count himself lucky, as adult tickets are...E should count himself lucky, as adult tickets are $34 at the National Zoo and Aquarium in Canberra!! I'm so glad you decided to go to the zoo after all, and I love the muffins, but then again artichokes have always been a favourite of mine :)Hannahhttp://wayfaringchocolate.comnoreply@blogger.com
