I, like you, prefer mine as is without too much gussying up (and never had a taste for the white stuff--perhaps it's that darkness!).

The quiche does look lovely, though. :)Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-47362100373108156462008-11-03T23:03:00.000+11:002008-11-03T23:03:00.000+11:00thanks Kalyn - interesting to see that asparagus w...thanks Kalyn - interesting to see that asparagus was favourite vegetable in your poll - wonder if you will be able to grow purple asparagus!

thanks Lysy - I am sure I have made the self-crusting quiche before with more success - I wasn't quite sure if this was a quiche or fritatta without the crust but fritatta just sounded wrong!

thanks Lisa - I am sure it is the little strategically placed spears of asparagus that are tempting you :-)

thanks Lorraine - there is something very photogenic about asparagus!Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-20886298897424779412008-11-03T22:40:00.000+11:002008-11-03T22:40:00.000+11:00That first picture looks so appetising and vibrant...That first picture looks so appetising and vibrant with the asparagus!Anonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-29153240981353465122008-11-03T11:56:00.000+11:002008-11-03T11:56:00.000+11:00A well researched post Johanna and a tempting reci...A well researched post Johanna and a tempting recipe!Lisa Turnerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17596930753946940084noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-642306466338248282008-11-03T07:30:00.000+11:002008-11-03T07:30:00.000+11:00This looks very enticing! We had a family with ten kids, and although we weren't poor, it probably wasn't in the budget. Now I love every type of asparagus dish, as long as it uses fresh asparagus. Never seen the purple type here either, though we do have the white ones once in a while. I'm thinking that when I'm retired (soon!) I'll try growing it myself!Kalyn Dennyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/02499065771517548587noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-89323107171915947852008-11-02T22:22:00.000+11:002008-11-02T22:22:00.000+11:00Thanks Holler - My tin wasn't a springform one but...Thanks Holler - My tin wasn't a springform one but I did think it would be easier to serve if it was - the mixture wasn't that runny so I don't know why it says not to use a loose bottom based tinJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-4873471914455189242008-11-02T21:09:00.000+11:002008-11-02T21:09:00.000+11:00This sounds realy good, although I am wondering wh...This sounds realy good, although I am wondering what will happen if I use one of my spring release cake tins.
