And thanks for the great piece on the different approaches to cooking carnivorous and vegetarian on the BBQ - stuff you don't really think about as a committed carnivore ;-) My best friend from childhood is a vegetarian (now vegan) so over the years I have got used to catering for any vegetarians and not making them feel like the conspicuous freak at the party - but you are right, I have been to many parties where this is not the case!!

Thanks for participating in WTSIM and hope to see you back soon.Jeannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12325204219395014329noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-56266299273687036142007-09-02T19:58:00.000+10:002007-09-02T19:58:00.000+10:00They look (and sound) fabulous, Jo. I've often thought of the delicious mushroom burgers that were in one of our share-house cookbooks, but these sound even better, esp with greens in them. Will definitely give them a try.

And I like the sunflower plate!

x NNicki Greenberghttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05933295866435745305noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-5275310420079122272007-09-01T10:35:00.000+10:002007-09-01T10:35:00.000+10:00Thanks Lisa - I have used cornmeal to dust burgers...Thanks Lisa - I have used cornmeal to dust burgers before and like it that way! I am sure I would appreciate one of your bbqs.

thanks Anh - I get sick of just calling all my burgers veggie burgers so try to be a bit creative when the mood takes me :-)

Thanks WineDeb - my partner is also a chilli fiend so he loved the chilli oil! Re different burgers, I encourage you to experiment - there are so many possible combinations of veggies you could use - I often use eggs and breadcrumbs to bind them but decided these would be vegan. I am hoping there will be some interesting ideas on the WTSIM... meatless bbq roundup too!Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-25069957404960373272007-08-29T21:00:00.000+10:002007-08-29T21:00:00.000+10:00I have just been through a few of my cookbooks loo...I have just been through a few of my cookbooks looking for a "different" burger! Yeuch!

I have started to take my own disposable barbeque with me to other people's houses.

When anyone comes to my house, they are treated to a veggie barbeque ( I have no mercy), but everyone always enjoys it!Jacqueline Meldrumhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05748535381400208316noreply@blogger.com
