Not sure why it would be considered "diet" food. . . nothing here to indicate it's from a reducing cookbook! Great for a day of birthday fun. :)Rickihttp://dietdessertndogs.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-31781581426428308102011-11-09T17:19:57.716+11:002011-11-09T17:19:57.716+11:00Thanks Lorraine - I was just avoiding wayward hula...Thanks Lorraine - I was just avoiding wayward hula hoops on the weekend rather than doing any twirling - but I have had a go to demonstrate over the past few years :-)

Thanks Kari - not even a little - the closest I got was wielding one end of the skipping rope - and E sang a limbo song accompanied by his ukelele :-)

Thanks Leaf - definitely one for the summer - E likes his salads warm so he feels like he is having a proper meal

Thanks Adam and Theresa - a lot of smoky recipes is a good reason to buy the book - will try and check it out again

Thanks Sarah - that is an impressive amount of recipes to make from a book (well for me it is) - will look forward to your new blog

Thanks Ashley - it was such a timely post for me as it was just what I felt like - I would have used chipotle if I wasn't feeling so lazy though I like substituting smoked paprika and chilli pepper to control the spiciness

Thanks Lisa - definitely a great modern version of the classic potato salad

Thanks Hannah - I love this salad particularly because it is so good that I could take it to a BBQ and be quite happy if I couldn't eat anything else there - and most people could eat it as long as it wasn't too spicy - low fat, gf, vegan and nut free!Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-8891335721317303662011-11-09T16:41:56.280+11:002011-11-09T16:41:56.280+11:00Oh how I love all things smoky! The recipes in Appetite for Reduction really appeal to me, and some of them have been really great but some are just okay. Overall I'm quite happy with it though.eatme_delicioushttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14657772782487330009noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-57347716042592738992011-11-09T03:00:13.892+11:002011-11-09T03:00:13.892+11:00I love Appetite for Reduction, you should reconsid...I love Appetite for Reduction, you should reconsider! I've made at least a dozen things from there and only 2 or 3 things were filed away under never to make again, with many more things that have been made multiple times. I actually plan to post on the book sometime (on my new blog launching soon!), I have a large collection of photos from my adventures cooking from it. I've yet to try this recipe, but will have to!Sarah S.https://www.blogger.com/profile/04757033974893707436noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-12799711001946281092011-11-08T22:50:42.460+11:002011-11-08T22:50:42.460+11:00I actually like the sound of a lot of the recipes ...I actually like the sound of a lot of the recipes in Appetite for Reduction, we got it before we left for India so haven't had a chance to try many of them but the combination of agave and smoked paprika or liquid smoke seems to be a theme, but quite a good one I would think. I'll definitely get stuck in when we are back in London with our books and selection of ingredients. The salad sounds like a good one.Yogi Kitchenhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/04675786498522531127noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-53105626091963390042011-11-08T22:05:43.631+11:002011-11-08T22:05:43.631+11:00Great salad for a warm day like today! Not even a little? ;)

This looks like the sort of meal I favour on very hot days (although on such days I'd serve it cold). I like the addition of kidney beans.
