I've seen recipes for home made stock paste - maybe you could adapt one of those to make a salty spread without additives. I think it is one of the things that has surprised me about being vegetarian is how I have adapted to so many changes in my diet. Love promite and avocado. I think Devondale cheese uses vegetarian rennet, which I why I switched to it from other supermarket brands. But growing up Chinese, we often had it on cucumbers, just to be different! :)

And potato gems...oooh...don't buy them anymore, but they were such a blast from the past for me, thank you! Lovely looking cherries too! :)celiahttp://www.figjamandlimecordial.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-21437626593221282202012-11-24T10:45:43.068+11:002012-11-24T10:45:43.068+11:00I love seeing what's in everyone's kitchen...I love seeing what's in everyone's kitchens! My hope is that one day the manufacturers replace or remove the artificial ingredients so we can enjoy them once again.. I really miss vegemite :( Aldi has non animal rennet in quite a few of the cheeses they sell. I've been hooked on it all my life and if I don't have any for breakfast I crave it all day long. I switched to Sanitarium Marmite for a while as it is fortified with B12 but it hasn't been available since the Christchurch earthquake. Vegemite plus avocado on crumpets or toast is my standard breakfast!

I remember the BluStick from several years ago when the young man was doing primary school projects but I definitely don't recall them from my youth.Melhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/10057980932079998162noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-62151141317795433612012-11-22T11:26:10.753+11:002012-11-22T11:26:10.753+11:00I do love these posts of yours :) We currently hav...I do love these posts of yours :) We currently have Vegemite and UK Marmite in our pantry, but Promite is a rarer purchase - I like it too but will eat the three spreads interchangeably and quite rarely as they always make me so thirsty. Mr Bite is also a fan of that popping candy chocolate, and it has become a regular feature in our fridge - and he has tried that cheese but now I can't remember what he thought of it.

I am yet to try Ghirardelli or Emma and Tom's but have been meaning to try both!Karihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15887621874869110597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-33065967770998267002012-11-22T09:30:39.545+11:002012-11-22T09:30:39.545+11:00I have a thing for Emma & Toms bars- that flav...I have a thing for Emma & Toms bars- that flavour's awesome, but so is the fig one..
