Funny about the walnuts--my HH says I'm a difficult customer, too, but it's only because my orders always seem to get mixed up and I have to ask them to change it as well! Can't imagine being served warm cheesecake on a muffin, but it looks good, anyway. ;)Rickihttp://dietdessertndogs.comnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-27607165495641535782010-04-13T22:47:17.111+10:002010-04-13T22:47:17.111+10:00Thanks A forkful - I can't stand snooty servic...Thanks A forkful - I can't stand snooty service esp when a mistake is made and these guy were really lovely so I didn't mind a few oversights esp as they were willing to go out on a limb for me when I ordered off the menu for Sylvia

Thanks Rachel - I love bookshop cafes too - there is something so lovely about eating when surrounded by books - or maybe even naughty - I was brought up not to eat in libraries and remember my first meeting with food in it in a library felt quite rebellious!

Thanks Lorraine - would be lovely to meet you if I am in Sydney again - and not in a roaring hurry because of work commitments - especially as you make such wonderful recommendations for places to eat

Thanks Zanita - I would tell you it is not a library but that would be hypocritical as I once read a whole book in a bookstore on successive visits - but feel free to come and ask and I will move so you can get to your books :-) And good to hear some good feedback on badde manors - will keep it in mind

Thanks Hannah - not as crammed and rambling as Shakespeare and Co but definitely a bookshop to visit and if I lived in Sydney I would love going there for food and browsing. hope your mum can make you a nice salad soonJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-72276955583398303882010-04-13T13:12:35.819+10:002010-04-13T13:12:35.819+10:00I can't not say it - this reminds me of Shakes...I can't not say it - this reminds me of Shakespeare and Co, which can only ever be a good thing? But where Shakespeare has a piano, this has wonderful salads... gosh I don't know which one is more likely to win my heart in the long run!

My mum makes a wonderful sweet potato salad very similar to that, though interchanges feta and goats cheese on occasion, and sometimes pine nuts for walnuts.
