We couldn't see the train station that is on the other side of the car park from our shop, very eerie indeed. Once it got dark I kept teasing the junior staff that the vampires were going to get them on the way to their parent's cars! haha... cruel?

Anyway, this pasta looks awesome - so vibrant - and it could even fit into a 'scary' themed banquet with that colour, blood pasta anyone?

Bookmarking it cos you know I love beetroot, delicious :)Tarahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11161555113161739310noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-16277817576393982782007-06-19T22:31:00.000+10:002007-06-19T22:31:00.000+10:00thanks Susan - I have heard beets a lot but it nev...thanks Susan - I have heard beets a lot but it never occurred this is what Americans say rather than beetroot. Maybe there was more fog around in the 40s and that is why they had more atmosphere :-) Seriously, I haven't seen enough old movies but luckily live with a film buff who introduces me to many great old movies - if only there was more time to watch them.Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-85721430547120892702007-06-19T05:14:00.000+10:002007-06-19T05:14:00.000+10:00I'm not a huge fan of beets (as we call them in th...I'm not a huge fan of beets (as we call them in the U.S. - just plain beets), but when they are done up in an extreme savory, they are something else entirely. You mentioned Brief Encounter and Casablanca. Very cool films. I'm into 40s b/w's in a big way. Why is it they had atmosphere then?Susanhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/14970742141705361136noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-74397746269412668742007-06-17T20:09:00.000+10:002007-06-17T20:09:00.000+10:00thanks Ruth and Kleopatra - nice to feel I might g...thanks Ruth and Kleopatra - nice to feel I might give back some of the inspiration I have got from all the blogs out there :-)Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-42059478792367985012007-06-17T11:39:00.000+10:002007-06-17T11:39:00.000+10:00Wow, your blog is amazing!!! And thanks for encouragement on beetroot leaves - I almost left them at the fruit and veg shop so my bag wasn't so bulky on the bike but then they looked so colourful it seemed a waste - will keep trying them.

Thanks Cindy - E most pleased with your comment because they are a family heirloom of sorts - they belonged to his great aunt bessie - felt like the right cookware for a russian style sauce.Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-42492244240302116892007-06-16T09:46:00.000+10:002007-06-16T09:46:00.000+10:00Johanna I love that retro floral saucepan! We hardly ever eat it anymore, but yesterday I had pasta for both lunch and dinner. It's all that cold weather.

Keep trying with those beetroot leaves. They are so damn good for you.Lucyhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05524429760235996360noreply@blogger.com
