I have wondered if they can be made into flour

Thanks Nic - I love the purple and orange combo too - hope you do get to make the beetroot soup - it tastes as good as it looks - I like the chunky beetroot soup with lots of root veg and potatoes that I have on my blog - it is less purple than a pureed one - and yes please I will swap some rain for some drought!

Thanks Philippa - hope you find some interesting veg at manna fresh - I am not sure how regularly they have these purple finds but they do have some interesting stuff (dried cherries but expensive and nice pesto that seems to be vegan) - good luck with checking them outJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-53004645108471991252009-11-13T10:05:19.799+11:002009-11-13T10:05:19.799+11:00this looks and sounds incredible, i'll have to...this looks and sounds incredible, i'll have to travel the route you took to get the same goodies. i love seeing produce that is out of popular circulation. just think of all the amazing fruits and veggies we miss out onAnonymousnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-30543750284332143802009-11-13T04:30:02.932+11:002009-11-13T04:30:02.932+11:00orange and purple is such a gorgeous combo. I've been trying to muster up the courage to make beetroot soup but sadly they are still wilting in the fridge as I type!
I can't get my head round it being so hot in Australia at the moment. My sister loves dried chestnuts and eats them straight from the pack (perhaps they're processed differently from yours?). The only time I used them was in a version of your nutloaf, which was delicious. And that photo of the orange and purple carrots--stunning!!Rickihttp://dietdessertndogs.comnoreply@blogger.com
