But as you can probably see - this post is quite old and I would probably approach the recipe differently today!Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-89399861408734718242016-12-02T17:08:31.308+11:002016-12-02T17:08:31.308+11:00I am sure you have seen the manufacturer's hav...I am sure you have seen the manufacturer's have finally realized that they sell more oats if they are grown gluten free. I can now buy several brands. Most people would have heard of hummus but not necessarily of baba ganoush, so it would sell easier.spacedlawhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/12462723005560128474noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-52301402896835104042007-12-11T23:03:00.000+11:002007-12-11T23:03:00.000+11:00thanks Katie - I avoid oats because I wanted these...thanks Katie - I avoid oats because I wanted these to be gluten free and I am under the impression that oats are ok for some gluten free diets but not others! But I might try these with oats some time as I agree they might alter the texture.Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-48598641681808257632007-12-11T07:08:00.000+11:002007-12-11T07:08:00.000+11:00Lol, your cookies story and your hummus story made...Lol, your cookies story and your hummus story made me laugh. I have a suggestion though, you said that you had seen the recipe with oats, well these are probably a vital ingredient, as oats really thicken a mixture up, especially when boiled. Think of porridge, you have to add twice as much liquid to oats and can still often end up with something the thickness of cement. As you left the oats out, there was nothing else to thicken up the liquidy mixture. I'm glad they turned out ok though. I think they sound rather nice with all your additions.Katiehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/05008246307753272616noreply@blogger.com
