Now why doesn't technology let me pan across the scene a bit more... Bring on web 3.0, I say...
The food exhibit reminded me of a superior version of the very weird food exhibit at my local Hong Kong Science Museum. It did make me reflect, though, on what makes a museum, museum-y, if I can use that word? Perhaps this would be better phrased as a joke?
Q: When is a museum not a museum?
A: When it's aim, you see, um... I'm not sure...Yazhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08663641688425080063noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-52398913031163219932012-01-16T23:23:34.956+11:002012-01-16T23:23:34.956+11:00Thanks Mel - sounds like you are due for another v...Thanks Mel - sounds like you are due for another visit - wonder how your son would like it now - he would probably like some of the exhibits that were a bit complicated for sylviaJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-22409713756434737572012-01-16T23:22:18.611+11:002012-01-16T23:22:18.611+11:00Thanks Jacqueline - he would just love itThanks Jacqueline - he would just love itJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-24665066378902705222012-01-16T23:22:00.425+11:002012-01-16T23:22:00.425+11:00Thanks Lisa - I would have loved a school excursio...Thanks Lisa - I would have loved a school excursion here as a kid but we had no museums in our little town :-( though my parents loved taking us to museums in MelbourneJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-17659451064491587312012-01-16T23:20:41.720+11:002012-01-16T23:20:41.720+11:00Thanks Rachel - yes, something for everyoneThanks Rachel - yes, something for everyoneJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-3112006570751538322012-01-16T23:20:16.029+11:002012-01-16T23:20:16.029+11:00Thanks Kari - I was fascinated by how much there w...Thanks Kari - I was fascinated by how much there was on the domestic - I remember a science exhibition in canberra when I was young that I loved but the House Secrets really brings science into the homeJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-48973570205210221182012-01-16T23:18:58.732+11:002012-01-16T23:18:58.732+11:00You should go if you are out that way - or it is a...You should go if you are out that way - or it is an excuse for a trip to a nice cafe out that way (duchess of spotswood is popular, or Katie Carrot recommended Famous Blue Rain Coat)Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-5044454777540640512012-01-16T23:17:54.847+11:002012-01-16T23:17:54.847+11:00Thanks C - the microwave display was fun (much mor...Thanks C - the microwave display was fun (much more fun than flames in my microwave last week) - I highly recommend a trip to Melbourne but if not then am sure there are some interesting science museums about youJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-46404415910074857172012-01-16T23:16:32.337+11:002012-01-16T23:16:32.337+11:00Thanks Joanne - agree - and there are some fun all...Thanks Joanne - agree - and there are some fun allusions to art with some of the every day in frames on up on the wall so you can have your cake and eat it tooJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-56740176225331910812012-01-16T20:52:31.252+11:002012-01-16T20:52:31.252+11:00It looks like the displays have changed a lot sinc...It looks like the displays have changed a lot since I took my son there but that was probably close to 10 years ago now and my memory is a bit hazy.
