I tend to think of the old school Aussie baking that I grew up with as very Australian - once I started to realise that people in other countries have no idea about some of our dishes I began to understand what was unique to Australia. I also think there is some really interesting cooking with Australian Indigenous herbs and spices. I think the fusion cooking is Australian but in a different way that I don't identify with so much (maybe I just don't eat out enough)Johanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-80819107993370591312013-01-24T23:52:50.542+11:002013-01-24T23:52:50.542+11:00Thanks LisaThanks LisaJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-68422620154610165122013-01-24T23:52:41.994+11:002013-01-24T23:52:41.994+11:00Thanks Cakelaw - I am impressed at your planning a...Thanks Cakelaw - I am impressed at your planning ahead - I am not good at waiting once I get an idea in my head :-) Will look forward to your Australia Day postJohanna GGGhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/08594201473931487490noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-7111250287279880662013-01-24T23:50:43.966+11:002013-01-24T23:50:43.966+11:00I love how these are more of a savory scone! they ...I love how these are more of a savory scone! they sound delicious.Joannehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17133232352924060797noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-55828212271232979312013-01-23T16:14:01.147+11:002013-01-23T16:14:01.147+11:00I like the move from invasion day to survivor day....I like the move from invasion day to survivor day. It always made me sad that the day had to represent the loss of land to Indiginous Australians rather than a celebration of all that Australia is - which is how I think of it.

I love your photos, the collage and the ones of the scrolls, and think vegemite in scones is an excellent idea! When I ate cheese on occasion, with vegemite was the only way I liked it. These days, I think I'd love to make these without the cheese but with nutritional yeast. Thanks for the idea :-)Karihttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15887621874869110597noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-17090911727055927212013-01-23T14:56:18.823+11:002013-01-23T14:56:18.823+11:00J-lady can you send me some please? Meat pies, unseasoned BBQs, rissoles, pavlova, lamingtons, etc.. He reminded me of all the amazing ethnic fusion food in Melbourne and Sydney. I reminded him I'm in Brisbane ;)Matthttps://www.blogger.com/profile/15943551456855944061noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-42094234348882472022013-01-23T08:57:30.991+11:002013-01-23T08:57:30.991+11:00What a wonderful treat! What a wonderful treat!Lisa (bakebikeblog)https://www.blogger.com/profile/14802600386274518441noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-6742756814967464811.post-14665232884252428952013-01-23T07:34:11.430+11:002013-01-23T07:34:11.430+11:00These scones look terrific, and I adore your patri...These scones look terrific, and I adore your patriotic collages.
